Immigration check is an integral part of an international journey. It is done twice, First at the port of departure in your home country and second at the port of entry in your destination country. Step by step process of Immigration

  • At departure
  1. Arrive at the airport and get the boarding pass from the airline
  2. Fill up the departure card
  3. Proceed towards the Immigration counter with Passport, Visa, boarding pass, departure card or any other relevant document
  4. When you reach the immigration counter, produce the documents asked by the immigration officer. Answer the questions asked by the officer confidently. (what are the questions asked at Immigration)
  5. When the officer is satisfied, your passport will be stamped ‘Departure’ with the departure date.
  • At Arrival
  1. After arriving at the destination country go to the immigration counter
  2. Fill up the Arrival/immigration card
  3. When you reach the immigration counter, produce the documents asked by the immigration officer. Answer the questions asked by the officer confidently. (Common questions asked)
  4. When the officer is satisfied, your passport will be stamped ‘Arrival’ with the arrival date.

Documents required at Immigration counter

  • At departure
  1. Passport
  2. Boarding pass
  3. Departure card (provided by the airline/immigration staff)
  4. Visa (not required when visiting a country offering Visa-on-arrival facility)
  • At Arrival
  1. Passport
  2. Boarding pass
  3. Immigration card/Arrival card (provided by the airline/immigration staff) (some countries do not require immigration card)
  4. Visa (E-visa/Pre-approved visa/Visa-on-arrival)
  5. Return journey flight ticket
  6. Confirmed hotel bookings
  7. Itinerary (may or may not be asked)
  8. Invitation letter
  9. Travel Insurance
  10.  Bank statement / Cash
